Justice Muhammad Bilal Khan of the Lahore High Court granted bail to an eight-year-old boy, who was arrested by Nishatabad police in a case registered under the Hudood laws.

While granting interim bail to Naqash, the court has also called the Faisalabad's District Police Officer (DPO) to appear before the court next week along with record of the case.

The court remarked it was oppression on the part of the police that they had taken this minor in custody in a case under Hadood Ordinance.

The court also required Additional Advocate Amir-ur-Rahman to assist it on the next date of hearing about the status of law on booking such minors in Hudood cases.

Naqash, in his petition, denied the allegations levelled against him in the FIR registered on the complaint of one Samina for raping her.

He submitted the complainant and her mother, residents of Batala Colony, Faisalabad, implicated him in a false case and they had no evidence to prove the accusations.
